This work aims to analyze the influence of media on public opinion and its relationship with public education policies. Methods: Discourse analysis of the major Spanish newspapers on the results achieved by Spain in PISA. Results: reveals that most of the news adopt an alarmist tone and are mainly based on the ranking. This news spread an overly negative picture of the current Spanish educational system.
