This study assesses the effects of an intervention program involving cooperative and creative games on assertive behavior and cognitive social problem-solving strategies in sixth-grade children in public schools in the greater Mérida area, in Yucatán. The study used a convenience sample made up of 89 students and a quasi-experimental design with an experimental group and a non-equivalent control group. Two tools were used to assess assertive, passive and aggressive behavior. A t-test analysis reveals an increase in assertive behavior and a decrease in passive behavior.
