Educación y cambio social: Aportes desde la pedagogía crítica

This paper addresses the relationship between social change and education from critical pedagogy. After reviewing the political conceptualization of culture which is done by the critical pedagogy and the relevance of the historicization of education for its analysis, authors such as Henry Giroux and Michael Apple are going to be analyzed. From this, three main elements are emphasized from the ideology of critical pedagogy: The teacher as transformative intellectual, the relevance of the teacher’s speech, the importance of including the students’ experience in the learning process and the speech that comes from it. It is concluded the relevance of teachers knowing and putting into practice these key elements for this pedagogical approach, in order to contribute to the student’s formation as a critical citizen.El presente trabajo aborda la relación entre cambio social y educación, desde la pedagogía crítica. Luego de revisar la conceptualización política de la cultura que lleva a cabo la pedagogía crítica y lo clave que resulta para su análisis la historización de la educación, se analizarán autores como Henry Giroux y Michael Apple. A partir de esto, se destacan tres elementos centrales del ideario de la pedagogía crítica: el docente como intelectual transformador, lo relevante del discurso del docente y la importancia de incluir en el proceso educativo la experiencia del alumno y el discurso que emerja de ella. Se concluye la importancia de que los docentes conozcan y pongan en práctica estos elementos claves de este enfoque pedagógico, para así contribuir a la formación del alumno como ciudadano crítico
