Discurso histórico e ironía en La tejedora de coronas

ABSTRACT This essay portrays the work which presents the dispute of three visions of the world: The rationalist one, related to a liberal ideology; the magic-mythical one, connected to paganism (universe of witches); and the Christian catholic distorted into a theocracy. These are inverted, opposed, and even self-substituted, ending up into annihilation, since they interpret reality and men to be replaced by uncertainty. This is the way in which the novel is projected towards the contexts in which it was originally meant to be (last part of the twentieth century), different from the epochs portrayed in history during centuries XVII and XVIII. Genoveva Alcocer is revealed as a modern character since she embodies chance and uncertainty as ways of elucidation of the world science has shown.Este ensayo da cuenta de la obra que opone tres visiones del mundo: la racionalista, emparentada con una ideología liberal; una mágica-mítica, asociada con el paganismo, universo de brujas lebrillos; y la católica cristiana deformada en una teocracia. Estas se invierten, se oponen e incluso se auto-remplazan, desembocando todas ellas en una anulación, en tanto formas de interpretar la realidad y el hombre, para ser remplazadas por la incertidumbre. Es de este modo como la novela se proyecta hacía los contextos en los cuales se gestó –finales de siglo veinte– diferentes a las épocas recreadas en la historia novelada, siglos XVII y XVIII. De esta manera, Genoveva Alcocer se revela como un personaje moderno, por cuanto encarna el azar y la incertidumbre como formas de explicación del mundo a las cuales se ha reducido la ciencia.
