Introduction: The lumbar spine plays an important role in the biomechanics of the individual as well as contributes to define the posture.Material and methods: In this study we have proposed a geometric and mathematical model in the subjects who practice the sport of weightlifting, in order to evaluate and characterize graphically the morphology of the lumbar spine in the sagittal plane to define, analyze and predict its behavior. Results and discussion: The technical aspect of weightlifting is very precise and requires excessive joint mobility of the lumbar spine in the same time when it is integrating certain axial compressive forces due to the weight to be lifted. The scope of the results obtained in the geometric and mathematical models...
