Sobre la signification biogeogrâfica de Minuartia dichotoma L.

The chromosome number of Minuartia dichotoma L., an endémie species of Spain (and of the Rif) has been determinated for the first time. It is n = 30. This taxon is polyploid whereas the two other species of ser. Minuartia (M. hamata and M. sclerantha) are diploid (n= 15). On the basis of the karyology and morphology of the three taxa, the authors conclude that M. dichotoma is probably an ancient autopolyploid of M. sclerantha modified by mutations and originated in the Tertiary Period, during M. sclerantha's migration from the Near East to Spain. M. dichotoma represents an ancient apoendemism of Spain (and of the Rif).Le nombre chromosomique du Minuartia dichotoma L., espèce endémique de l'Espagne (et du Rif) été déterminé pour la lère fois.
