The proliferation of studies related to the cataloging of ecclesiastical music sources in Spanish Musicology, has caused that for nearly half a century many voices have raised criticizing the excess of positivism in the approach to this discipline in our country. Should we then consider the study of musical sources, the ecclesiastical ones in particular, a dead end for Musicology?
