Assimilation of immigrants into the Spanish labour market is a new topic in the Spanish economic literature. This paper sheds evidence for Andalusia about this subject from a different point of view. In particular, the first objective is to analyse the factors affecting the first immigrants’ occupation in the Andalusian labour market, in order to examine whether immigrants transfer their human capital acquired in their countries of origin. These objectives are reached by estimating discrete choice models.
