El tratamiento de significados en situaciones didácticas de aprendizaje del Álgebra

This paper presents a study of the level of algebraic abilities achieved by students of the Mathematics- Physics major at the University of Guantánamo, based on the performances they possess regarding variables, equation and their respective concepts. Five didactic situations in Algebra are studied for this paper: the use of symbols and their significance, the use of the algebraic terms and their significance, algebraic calculation recognizing the applied and permissible rules, recognition of differences and similarities between significances, and the way to represent and read algebraic objects.Se analiza el nivel de habilidades algebraicas alcanzado por los estudiantes que ingresan a la carrera Matemática - Física de la Universidad de Guantánamo, sobre la base de las representaciones que ellos poseen acerca de variables, ecuación y sus respectivos conceptos. Se tratan cuatro situaciones didácticas del dominio del Álgebra: utilización de los símbolos provistos de su significado, uso de los términos algebraicos dotados de su significado, cálculo algebraico reconociendo las reglas aplicadas y permisibles, reconocimiento de diferencias y semejanzas entre los significados, la forma de representar y la de leer los objetos algebraicos
