This paper present the final results of wood charcoal analysis of the archaeological site of Forcas II (Graus, Huesca). The sequence comprises different moments of occupation between 8700 and 6700 BP. The favorable climatic conditions in the Holocene Optimum result in forested areas that are used by the Mesolithic and Neolithic groups to an opportunistic management of fuelwood. The Scots/Black pine type is the most consumed firewood along the entire sequence although the oaks, probably Portuguese oaks, gains importance gradually.
