Educação Física escolar e deficiência visual: um estudo de caso

The theme of this study is the Physical Education and the Visual Disability. The theme came up due to difficulties I have faced in my supervised training when I had a visual disabled student. This study aims to understand the process of including a visual disabled student in the Physical Education classes, seeking to relate it with the sociocorporal experiences of that student in his life journey in school or outside it. This is a case study, the research is characterized as qualitative. Data were collected through semi­structured interviews with the visual disabled student, with a member of the school direction that the student attends, with the student’s mother and with two Physical Education ex­teachers of this student. Currently, the subject of study is a student of this researcher and, for this reason, a field diary was also used. Results showed that there is a big need that visual disabled students have the opportunity to practice Physical Education since they are small, in order to learn to know better their physical abilities when inserted in classes. It was also noticed that teachers sought to provide to the visual disabled student moments in which he could learn sport disciplines and recreation activities, nevertheless, that was done working with the student individually. However, during the research, the student has showed that he prefers activities in pairs, because that is the way he feels more confidence regarding to his fears. We conclude that, when stimulated to practice physical activity, the student demonstrated a great potential, nevertheless, this stimulus would be more valid if made since childhood, because when he is greater, the student already have the habit of practicing physical activity.Este estudo tem como tema a Educação Física Escolar e a Deficiência Visual. O tema surgiu através das dificuldades encontradas durante o estágio supervisionado da pesquisadora deparando­se com um aluno com deficiência visual. O presente trabalho objetiva compreender o processo de inclusão de um aluno com deficiência visual na Educação Física escolar, buscando relacioná­lo com suas experiências sociocorporais na sua trajetória de vida na escola e fora dela. Trata­se de um estudo de caso, portanto a pesquisa caracteriza­se como qualitativa. As informações foram coletadas através de entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com o aluno com deficiência visual, com um membro da direção escolar da escola freqüentada pelo aluno, com a mãe do aluno e com dois ex­professores de Educação Física desse aluno. Atualmente, o sujeito de estudo é aluno da pesquisadora e, por essa razão, fez­se uso do diário de campo. Nos resultados encontrados, percebeu­se uma grande necessidade de que alunos com deficiência visual tenham acesso à Educação Física desde pequenos, para que aprendam a conhecer melhor suas capacidades físicas quando inseridos nas aulas. Percebeu­se, também, que os professores buscaram proporcionar ao aluno momentos que possibilitassem a ele aprender as modalidades esportivas e atividades recreativas, porém, faziam isso trabalhando individualmente. Contudo, durante a pesquisa, o aluno demonstrou preferir atividades em dupla, pois assim sente mais segurança quanto aos seus medos. Conclui­se que, quando estimulado a praticar atividade física, o aluno demonstrou grande potencial, porém, seria adequado o estímulo desde a infância, para que quando maior, o aluno possua o hábito da prática da atividade física
