This article presents a case study on control policies on the field of the internet and the social web, developed by the Venezuelan government, between 2007 and 2015. The case study includes examination of key documents of public policy for internet by Venezuelan State, industry statistics and data provided by previous research, as well as systematization of empirical events that reflect the characteristics of the practices of political control on the web that were implemented by the Venezuelan State.
