Potencial geoturístico do estado do Ceará, Brasil

Situated in the Brazilian Northeast region, with about 92% of its territory under semi-arid climatic conditions, the state of Ceará has natural potential that can be made viable economically by geotourism, new aspect of nature tourism, providing a viable alternative beyond the traditional seas ide tourism held in the State. This article aims to identify,characterize and map the locations of greatest potential geotouristic ofthe coast andinterior in Ceará to thereby demonstrate the ability of the state relating to the development of geotourism,a segment still little known in Ceará that comes with the intention to promote and conserve the geological heritage . The methodology involved review of the literature on the subject,from the survey of major works published about it,fieldwork and data a nalysis.In this perspective six main geotourism routes were identified involving environments like cliffs ,dunes, lagoons,crystalline massifs,inselbergs and sedimentary basins.Situado na região Nordeste, com cerca de 92% de seu território sob condições climáticas semiáridas, o Estado do Ceará apresenta potencialidades naturais que podem ser viabilizadas economicamente pelo geoturismo, nova vertente do turismo de natureza, constituindo uma alternativa viável, além da atividade turística litorânea tradicionalmente realizada no Estado. Este artigo tem como objetivo principal identificar, caracterizar e mapear os locais de maior potencial geoturístico do litoral e ser tão cearense para, com isso, comprovar a aptidão do Estado no que tange ao desenvolvimento do geoturismo, um segmento ainda pouco conhecido no Ceará, que surge com a intenção de divulgar e conservar o patrimônio geológico. A metodologia para a realização desta pesquisa envolveu revisão bibliográfica pertinente ao tema, mediante o levantamento das principais obras publicadas sobre o assunto, realização de trabalho de campo e tabulação e análise dos dados. Nessa perspectiva foram identificados seis roteiros geoturísticos principais envolvendo ambientes como falésias, dunas, lagoas, maciços cristalinos, inselbergs e bacias sedimentares
