Ser mujer y ser madre: tensiones en dos gestantes muertas por suicidio en Colombia durante el año 2010-2011

Tensions between being a woman and being a mother are observed in the interpretation that the families of two pregnant women died by suicide give this event. It is qualitative research, phenomenological-hermeneutic approach, case study method. Semi-structured interviews. In the stories of both families emerge category Being a woman and three trends around the personality characteristics of both women, they established close relationships and contradictions and ambivalences in the mother to be found. For these two women, motherhood was not a protective factor against suicide, pregnancy contributed to trigger this decision coupled with conflicting experiences of couples, emotions and confused and ambivalent feelings.Las tensiones entre el ser mujer y el ser madre se observan en la interpretación que las familias de dos mujeres gestantes muertas por suicidio dan a este evento. Investigación cualitativa, con enfoque fenomenológico- hermenéutico, método de estudio de casos. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas. En los relatos de ambas familias emerge la categoría Ser mujer y se encontraron tres tendencias en torno a las características de personalidad de ambas mujeres, las relaciones afectivas que éstas establecían y las contradicciones y ambivalencias en el ser madre. Para estas dos mujeres, la maternidad no fue un factor protector contra el suicidio, la gestación contribuyó en desencadenar esta decisión sumada a vivencias conflictivas de pareja, emociones y sentimientos confusos y ambivalentes.
