Estrategias de gestión de personal en la hotelería del nordeste brasileño

Human Resource Strategies on the Brazilian Northeast Hotel Sector. The general objective of this research was to assess the degree of implementation of human resource strategies in the Brazilian Northeast hotel sector. A descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, was developed in hotels of the principal tourist destinations of four states in the Northeast Region of Brazil. The instrument for data collection investigates the human resource strategies based on the Competing Values Model (Quinn & Rohrbaugh, 1983; Cameron & Quinn, 2006). The results indicate a tendency toward greater implementation of strategies that have organizational focus orientated toward the internal environment and lower implementation of strategies that have organizational focus orientated toward the external environment. This tendency may reflect the current stance taken by the human resource management in organizations, still quite unrelated of organizational strategies, market positioning and organizational outcomes, which are elements directly related to the external environment.El objetivo general de esta investigación fue evaluar el grado de implementación de las estrategias de gestión de personas en la hotelería del Nordeste brasileño. Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo de abordaje cuantitativo en los hoteles de los principales destinos turísticos de cuatro estados del Nordeste de Brasil. El instrumento de recolección de datos analizó las estrategias de gestión de personas en base al Modelo de Valores Competitivos (Quinn & Rohrbaugh, 1983; Cameron & Quinn, 2006). Los resultados indican la tendencia a una mayor implementación de las estrategias con un enfoque organizacional orientado al ambiente interno y una menor implementación de las estrategias con un enfoque organizacional orientado al ambiente externo. Esta tendencia puede reflejar la actual postura asumida por la gestión de personas en las organizaciones, desvinculada de las estrategias organizacionales, del posicionamiento de mercado y de los resultados organizacionales, los cuales son elementos directamente asociados al ambiente externo
