Un ensemble de monnaies du XVIe siècle provenant de Saint-Mathieu de Tréviers (Hérault)

Catalogue and analysis of a hoard of 256 silver and billon monies (papal coins of Avignon and french royal coins), dated from the middle of XVth century to the third quarter of the XVIth (last year : 1572), buried at the end of 1572 or at the beginning of 1573, probably in the context of religious disturbances, near to the castle of Montferrand (Saint-Mathieu de Tréviers, Hérault), which seems to have been in possession of a merchant or of an artisan from Rhone’s low valley (probably from Avignon), come to Saint-Mathieu towards 1565.Catalogue et analyse d’un trésor monétaire de 256 monnaies d’argent et de billon (pontificales d’Avignon et royales françaises) datant du milieu du XVe siècle au troisième quart du XVIe (ultime millésime : 1572), enfoui fin 1572 ou au début de 1573, probablement dans le contexte des troubles religieux, près du château de Montferrand (Saint-Mathieu de Tréviers, Hérault) et qui semble avoir appartenu à un commerçant ou artisan de la basse vallée du Rhône (probablement d’Avignon) venu à Saint-Mathieu vers 1565
