The production of wine in France developed on the base of a model characterized by the existence of small agricultural exploitations and of cooperatives that were commercializing the products on the internal market and on the international one. The creation of the Economic European Community, the transformations operated on the markets in last three decades of the 20th century and the appearance of new rival countries, they altered the economic and institutional order of the traditional wine economy.
