Non ha portto alcuno, ma sola spiaggia'. La actividad marítima valenciana en el siglo XV

The article aims to examine the role of ports in the Kingdom of Valencia in the process of economic development of the territory in the 15th century. Asserting the importance of medieval maritime activity in this area, the research begins with a descriptive approach to its port geography. The author’s analysis continues through four points: the infrastructure of Valencian ports, their contribution to social dynamics and to the external impact of the local economy and, finally, the relationship established by the ports with interior areas. It will be possible thus to observe the development of more than forty Valencian ports that probably formed within the Kingdom a true port system.El artículo pretende examinar el papel de los puertos del reino de Valencia en el proceso de desarrollo económico del territorio durante el siglo XV. Tras afirmar la importancia de la actividad marítima medieval en este espacio, la investigación comienza con una aproximación descriptiva a su geografía portuaria. El análisis del autor continúa a través de cuatro puntos: las infraestructuras que poseían los puertos valencianos, lo que estos aportaban al dinamismo social, su contribución a la proyección de la economía local y, finalmente, la relación que establecían con áreas interiores. Se podrá observar así el funcionamiento de más de cuarenta embarcaderos valencianos que, probablemente, constituyeron dentro del reino un verdadero sistema portuario
