El Cabildo de la Iglesia Catedral de Palencia: canónigos y predicadores del sermón fúnebre regio durante el setecientos

This article tries approaching the role of the preachers in the funeral of the Monarchs that took place in the Cathedral of Palencia in the 18th century, emphasizing the involvement of some of its members with the civil power. There is no doubt in the role of the Church in the organization of the funeral ceremony where, inevitably, the person who pronounced the sermon acquires great relevance. This preaching is usually for a Canon. This work is dedicated to the analysis of these characters and their life trajectories in the bosom of the chapter enclosure.El presente artículo trata de abordar el papel de los predicadores en las exequias de los monarcas que tuvieron lugar en la catedral de Palencia a lo largo del siglo XVIII, poniendo de relieve la vinculación de algunos de sus miembros con el poder civil. Es indiscutible el papel protagonista de la Iglesia en la organización del ceremonial fúnebre donde, ineludiblemente, la persona que pronuncia el sermón adquiere gran relevancia. Esta prédica generalmente recae en un canónigo. Al análisis de estos personajes y sus trayectorias vitales en el seno del recinto capitular dedicamos este trabajo
