Comparing two periods, each one of 20 years, one chazacterized by the application of keynesian policies; the other by monetarist strategies it is found, in this paper, that the second one coincides with an increase of unemployment, a lower economic growth and a higher and systematic inflation. The analysis concludes: price growth OCCUIS without previous increases in the money stock; money growth is an endogenous process generated by the needs of credit of the economy; previous or simultaneous changes in prices explain the velocity of growth of nominal money, without evidence of a reciprocal causation from money to prices; the acceleration of real balances and that of prices are .opposite and change simultaneously so that monetary restrictiv...
