Soledad Acosta de Samper´s novel writing is the focus of this article. The first issue explored is the way she defines the relationship woman - writing and female subjectivity through an imaginary of ‘woman' in her novels: Dolores, cuadros de la vida de una mujer (1867), Doña Gerónima. Novela de costumbres neogranadinas (1878) y Anales de un paseo (1879-1880).
