The paper investigates the main factors that motivate the internationalization of Brazilian franchising operations overseas. Based on face-to-face interviews in 2012 with 21 Brazilian franchising networks (in a total of 88 internationalized network) we have observed strong presence of foreigner behind the strategy to internacionalization. Such strategy can be described neither proactive nor reactive; the internationalization of Brasilian franquizing network is merely “conducted”. Conducted internationalization means that even though the franching is very dynamic and proatity, the decision to have international operations isn’t motivated by internal Brazilian staff of the companies.Este artigo analisa as razões que motivam franquias brasilei...
