It is not quite established a way to represent diathesis in the literature of Generative Grammar. Di erent attempts have been made to place diathesis as IP, vP or some kind of projection with no specific position. Our aim is to provide diathesis with a functional category, diathesis phrase (DIATP), which permits a complete representation of diathetic phenomena in all natural languages.
