Arturo Uslar Prieti y el antipositivismo en Venezuela

Antipositivism in Latin America must be seen as a series of tendencies that arose in reaction to the limited interpretation positivism made of continental reality. In the Venezuelan case, antipositivism is very connected to a series of thought tendencies that emerged in the last years of the dictator, Juan Vicente Gomez, among which figure Marxism, social democracy and Christian democracy. Among the most important Venezuelan antipositivist thinkers are Arturo Uslar Pietri, Alberto Adriani, and Mariano Picon Salas. These authors began a reinterpretation of national reality from social, economic, historic and cultural perspectives that were totally different from their predecessors. For the first time, petroleum appears as the energizing element of national life and the central factor that conditions the historical future of the country.El antipositivismo en Latinoamérica debe ser visto como una serie de tendencias que surgieron como reacción a la interpretación limitada que hacia el positivismo de la realidad continental. En el caso venezolano el antipositivismo esta muy vinculado a una serie de tendencias de pensamiento que surgieron a partir de los últimos años de la dictadura de Juan Vicente Gómez, entre las que figuran el marxismo, la social democracia y la democracia cristiana. Entre los pensadores venezolanos antipositivistas más importantes están Arturo Uslar Pietri, Alberto Adriani y Mariano Picon Salas. Estos autores comienzan una reinterpretación de la realidad nacional desde la perspectiva social, económica, histórica y cultural, totalmente distintas de sus antecesores. Por vez primera, el petróleo aparece como el elemento dinamizador de la vida nacional, y como factor central que condiciona el devenir histórico del país
