This article explores conceptual approaches in the study of blogs, the Internet and the Habermasian concept of public sphere in the Philippines, where the process of democratization is still developing. This is an article with a fundamentally exploratory focus, requiring therefore further development, which attempts to base itself more on the questions which are raised than on completed answers on the subject. This theme centres on beginning to consider the role of journalist-bloggers in the Philippines during the one-year period when the �Gloriagate� scandal was at its peak, from June 2005 to June 2006.
