The Educational Reform and the Mass Media: This article is an approach to the need for an ending to the controversy of earlier decades concerning the means of communication and school institutions. In order to mark and encounter vertex between these fundamental practices of social dynamics, it is required to recognize from the beginning the each one these activities is singular and different from one another. This demands modifying some of the notions and conceptions that distinguish the social functions of mass media and school institutions which have supported a confrontation by all means useless and at least extemporary. In the same way, such precisions clarify any intentions to invade or to submit the media to education or vice versa.Se aborda en este artículo la necesidad de poner fin a la disputa de décadas anteriores entre los medios de comunicación y la institución escolar. Marcar un punto de encuentro entre estas dos prácticas fundamentales en la dinámica social requiere, de partida, el reconocimiento de la condición singular y diferente de cada una.
