The sea surface temperature (SST) is a key element in the climate system. Meteorological satellites extended the spatial coverage of this essential parameter. However, data from remote sensing systems must be validated with in situ data which, unfortunately, have their own weaknes. In the present work a validation test over three existent SST algorithms was carried out matching up the satellite data with buoy data. The approach consisted in a comparison of the two kind of data, a matchup of both data measured at the same or similar time. The result derived from this test was a good accuracy, better than expected, with a mean bias less than 0,5º C within the three algorithms.La temperatura superficial del mar es el auténtico motor del sistem...
