The following article examines cartoons gender relations in Chilean television based on a qualitative analysis of 24 cartoon emissions from Asia, USA and Chile. As main outcomes we found that Asiatic animations, when they are oriented to children between 8 and 14 year old (Tweens), exalt the use of the body as a strategy to be desired, admired or, in some cases, to compete with their peers. In the case of American productions, women are not primary characters, whereas men are more independent and impulsive as well. In the case of national productions we found more elaborated and complex relationships, where some old fashioned roles are questioned with humour.
