In exercise of the jurisdictional-constitutional function, specifically referred to electoral contents, the upper instance of the Mexican Electoral Court of the Federal Judiciary established, as a cause of invalidity of a popular election, not covered nor regulated by the applicable electoral general act, the abstract nullification or nullity by principles. According to it, the constitutional regulation about popular elections, allows to infer some basic, imperative and inalienable principles that must be followed, in order to consider an election to be an authentic and truly democratic one; if those principles are breach, the election is considered to be invalid and vitiated, susceptible of being nullified.
