This article aims to examine how the cuban writer Antón Arrufat (1935) understands the relationship between time, revolution and subjectivity in his first novel, Mi antagonista (1963). We propose that if the State discourse imagines revolution as the inaugural page of a history to be written by a new man, Arrufat, on the contrary, conceives it as a work of rewriting, as an experimentation to be done by the heir with the materials of his inheritance.
