This article discusses the need to bring film clubbing closer to academic spheres by using interpretative sequence analysis as a tool to enrich and build the film club session. The paper presents, as a case study, the interpretive textual analysis of the operistic dimension in the final sequences of The Godfather, Part III (Coppola, 1990). The results of this analysis are widely discussed and then used to design the content of a hand programme that includes key frames, information relevant to the presentation of the film and guide questions to the film club debate.
