The opinions which teachers profess on student-teacher relationships in schools point to a worrying future, all the more so because the origins of the foreseen problems are based on causes that are not related with the teachers' own capacity to respond. Moreover, the results offered by some studies do not help clarify the panorama of school conflict and, in some cases, they are used as arguments that merely magnify the disaffection and sense of impotence that teachers feel.
