This article offers a new interpretation for some Iberian place names ending in -o and -e, thus providing an explanation of these endings as different allomorphs of an unstressed vowel in the final syllable, as happens in the Romance languages that are spoken in the former territory of the Iberian language. Some o > u processes in non–final unstressed syllable are explained in the same way.Este trabajo propone una nueva interpretación de algunos topónimos ibéricos en -o y en -e, explicando esas terminaciones como diferentes alomorfos de una vocal átona en sílaba final, similares a las que se dan en los romances hablados en el antiguo dominio de la lengua ibérica.
