This paper provides a comparative, exploratory, analysis on the effectiveness of public policies to combat food poverty in three states in Mexico: Distrito Federal (Mexico City), State of Mexico and Jalisco. The aim is to determine whether the ruling party's political ideology influences the effectiveness of programs and activities for poverty alleviation.
