Thermal spray coatings have pores and others structural defects, it is characteristics of the application process, therefore is very important to determine if in spite of these defects the coating protects to the substrate of the corrosion effects. In this work coatings of nickel, nickel-cobalt-tungsten and silicon carbide-nickel were deposited on a steel substrate by means of thermal flame spray and was studied your capacity to protect to the substrate against corrosive effects by means of impedance electrochemical spectroscopy (IES), using Na2SO4 0,2M like electrolyte.
