The current article is focused in the study of the migration agreements that took place since 1990s between the Canadian Federation and the Canadian provinces (with the exception of Quebec). These agreements include both the possibility to select a portion of the immigration that arrives to each province, as well as the management of firstarrival and integration programs. The first part of the article analyses the agreements signed with Manitoba, Alberta British Columbia and Ontario and then, in the second part, it analyses the impact of these agreements in both the migratory model and the Canadian federal system.
