Abstract

The processes of accumulation of heavy metals in soils are a serious risk for all living beings. Soil macrofauna also is affected and can be an indicator of soil pollution and used to assess its quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate the presence and influence of available soil cadmium and lead on the density and diversity of soil macrofauna in cultivated cacao under organic management. In coordination with Agrarian Cooperative La Divisoria, 22 plots of organically farmed cacao were selected in the Huanuco (17) and Ucayali (5) regions.
