El retorno del desarrollismo: Una mirada crítica en perspectiva histórica

The economic and political crises that hit Latin America in the early twenty-first Century bring back on the academic mainstream the discussion about the return of the State. Some scholars have coined the term new developmentism to explain and justify this return using ideas proposed by developmentism that prevailed in the region between 1950 and 1970. This paper argues that this approach is based on a misreading of the past, running the risk of makes the same old mistakes today.Las crisis económicas y políticas que sacudieron a América Latina a comienzos del siglo XXI, pusieron nuevamente en el centro del debate el retorno del Estado. Un grupo de intelectuales acuño el término neodesarrollismo para explicar y fundamentar este retorno, retomando elementos conceptuales propuestos por el desarrollismo que imperó en la región entre 1950 y 1970. Aquí argumentaremos que esa propuesta se basa en una lectura errónea del pasado, corriéndose el riesgo de repetir los mismos errores de entonces en la actualidad
