Here we identify anthropogenic and natural processes that are eroding the El Morrillo archaeological site, localized in the bay of Matanzas, Matanzas city, Cuba. We base our conclusions on our study of the area�s satellite images taken during the last decade and historic documentation that span further back to three centuries. Through this generalized study, we show a considerable and systematic loss of archaeological evidence due to cover vegetation and sediment dis-turbance of both cultural and natural origins.
