Flavobacteriosis on Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss) from Lake Titicaca, Puno, Perú 2009.

Astudy of rainbow trout from Lago Titicaca-Puno determined the disease flavobacteriosis, with approximately 60% mortality and possibly corresponding to Flavobacterium psychrophilum, has been known as the causative agent of "bacterial cold-water disease" (BCWD) or peduncle disease in salmonids. The most common external macroscopic lesion ulceration of the dorsal area was the most frequent macroscopic external injury similar to stamp-like; and hemorrhage ocular, extensive erosion of the tail with the loss from skin tissue, gill anemia with hypertrophy and hyperplasia. Internally there was a market splenomegaly, liver with hemorraghe and sallow areas, inflammation from kidney, gill anemia inflammation of the intestine and ascetic fluid in the peritoneum. The bacteria was isolated in TSA and showed yellow pigments, was oxidase positive.Un estudio realizado a truchas, procedente del Lago Titicaca-Puno determinó la enfermedad flavobacteriosis y una mortalidad aproximadamente del 60%, posiblemente corresponda a Flavobacterium psychrophilum, conocido como el agente que causa la �enfermedad bactérica de aguas frías� (BCWD) o enfermedad del pedúnculo. La lesión macroscópica externa más frecuente fue la ulceración semejante a �sellos� de la región dorsal del pez, hemorragia ocular, erosión extensiva de la cola, con pérdida del tejido dérmico, anemia branquial, hipertrofia e hiperplasia. Internamente se observó una marcada esplenomegalia, hemorragia y zonas pálidas del hígado, inflamación del riñón, del intestino y acumulación de líquido ascítico en el peritoneo. La bacteria se aisló en TSA, presentó pigmentos amarillos y dio positivo con la oxidasa
