Inoculation techniques (TI) of Fusarium verticillioides on corn ears were compared through the incidence (I%) and severity (S%) showed by 15 cultivars. Experimentation was carried out in Camet (Gral. Pueyrredón, Buenos Aires), during 2006/07. The TI were: 1) aspersion of an aqueous inoculum (SI) onto the silk (ASE); 2) injection of SI into the silk channel (ICE), 3) insertion in the mid-ear of a toothpick colonized with mycelium (IE), 4) control without inoculation (C). No interaction hybrid x TI and variability among hybrids were found for S%. Inoculations caused more severe symptoms than C. For I% the interaction hybrid x TI was significant, suggesting that I% produced by TI depended on the hybrids. IE method produced the highest I% overa...
