Profundizando en la ampliación de la Unión Europea hacia los Balcanes occidentales: la adhesión de Croacia

This paper addresses the process of Croatia's accession to the European Union. To do this, in the First Part of this article we focus on the analysis of the negotiations, the intense moments, the concessions, the difficulties and the progress. And, in the Second Part, we study the Treaty of Accession of Croatia to the European Union and, within it, the issues regarding the transitional measures, the safeguard clauses, the institutional and financial arrangements. In short, it is to see to what extent this accession is a real step forward in the deepening of the European Union's enlargement towards the Western Balkans.El presente trabajo aborda el proceso de adhesión de Croacia a la Unión Europea. Para ello, en la Primera Parte de este artículo nos detenemos en el análisis de las negociaciones, sus momentos álgidos, las concesiones, las dificultades y los avances. Y, en la Segunda Parte, estudiamos el Tratado de adhesión de Croacia a la Unión y, dentro de él, las cuestiones relativas a las medidas transitorias, las cláusulas de salvaguardia, las disposiciones institucionales y financieras. En definitiva, se trata de ver en qué medida esta adhesión es un paso verdadero en la profundización de la ampliación de la Unión Europea hacia los Balcanes Occidentales
