Although health personnel trained to play an important role in promoting breastfeeding, directly influencing the rate and duration, several studies show a gap and lack of knowledge in students medical schools. For identifying the breastfeeding knowledge and behaviour of the nursing students, analysing the changes in their knowledge and behaviour after the degree and identifying if the attendance at the course lectures changes the breastfeeding information sources, a descriptive/comparative study was performed in March/2007 with 87 teenagers from the 1st year of the nursing course.
