In the middle olf the lll century B.C. mercenary soldiers are at the beginning of many military conflicts, which had their origins in mutinies and independent conquests in the Central Mediterranean. These conflicts have historial repercussions at this time as they manage to control strategic cities and territories such as Mesana, Reggio, the Lybian territory of Carthage or the island of Sardinia.
