From empiric experiences of first year engineering programs faculty we have proposed some factors that are considered related with successful teaching-learning process. The factors have been presented to a sample of freshman engineering students enrolled in chemistry courses at Vicerrectorado "Luis Caballero Mejías". Interested students voluntarily took the on-line survey. The results allow indicating suitable and important tendencies for the planners and the educators in engineering, regarding social, cognitive, curricular, and behavioral aspects as well as means used to support teaching.
