The aim of this article is to compare the Latin American chronicle with the classical chronicle and identify displacements of meaning, particularly in terms of representing popular sectors, compared with the treatment traditionally given to them by hegemonic journalism. The chronicles of our corpus refer to real histories written in a style closer to literature than journalism, through the choice of multiple viewpoints based on different fictionalization techniques. This fictionalization process provokes a rupture in the collective belief, mobilizing new ways of seeing that set up interpretative tensions.
