The current paper explores the possibility of using examples taken from movies and TV to support the teaching work in the General Physics classroom at University level, including an example of a teaching assignment recently developed at the University of Granada. Contrary to other initiatives, which use taylor-made documentary programs for teaching purpuses, we intend to take advantage of the teaching opportunities given by movies and television series.
