América latina y la cuestión palestina (1947-2012)

Even thought Latin American interest on the Palestinian issue was quite obvious when countries of this region recognized the Palestinian state between December 2010 and March 2011, this issue is not new in the Latin American foreign policies agendas. According to this article, the importance of the Palestinian question during the last decades in the United Nations and is diplomatic importance put it in the agenda of Latin American countries. This process is analyzed in the period 1947-2012 by considering the negotiations and votes of the countries of this region when the Israeli-Palestinian was considered in the United Nations different bodies.El interés de América Latina por la cuestión palestina se ha hecho visible a nivel internacional sólo recientemente con la ola de reconocimientos del Estado palestino entre diciembre de 2010 y marzo de 2011. La incorporación de esta temática en las políticas exteriores de los Estados latinoamericanos no es nueva, sin embargo. Si bien América Latina nunca desempeñó un papel sustancial en la mediación internacional del conflicto en el Medio Oriente, la centralidad del tema en las Naciones Unidas y la necesidad para Israel como para los palestinos de diversificar sus alianzas internacionales, hizo que los Estados latinoamericanos fueran regularmente convocados para tomar partido. Proponemos analizar las posiciones latinoamericanas a lo largo de los sesenta y cinco últimos años (1947-2012)
