The antioxidant capacity of lignin (LLN) on low density polyethylene(LDPE) was studied by means of a nonisothermal method using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The samples under study, obtained by formulating LDPE with LLN, were subject of heat treatment at different heating rates (â = 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 ° C / min), under oxygen atmosphere to promote the thermo-oxidation of the material. A kinetic model of isoconversional termoxidative degradation, adjusted to the Arrhenius equation, was employed to determine the protection factor (PF) of lignin in the polymer resin.
