This article analyzes some perceptions about United States and Chile during the Great Depression, from economic history and international relations� perspectives, specifically in 1931. Some causes, implications and effects of this phenomenon in both countries are described, by using national press information. In this sense, it is suggested that, in spite of the deep differences between United States and Chile during this historical period, it there was a kind of parallelism in the crisis� development in these countries, a fact that could have been observed in the weakening of the governments, a certain damage in the international prestige and a national debate between optimist and pessimist groups.Se analizan las percepciones sobre Estados...
